Affiliate disclosure
Longmark earns money from some outbound links. Here is exactly how that works, what it never changes, and the options we recommend on merit that pay us nothing at all.
Longmark is free to read, and it is funded partly by affiliate commissions. When we link to certain crypto IRA providers and you open an account after clicking, the provider may pay us a commission. It never costs you anything extra, and — this is the part that matters most in a category built on fees — it never changes how we rank or describe a provider, and it never softens our honesty about their fees, risks or sales tactics. We tell you this up front because a guide that hides how it earns money cannot be trusted on the products it earns money from.
How the links work
Affiliate links on this site point to a /go/ address on our own domain, which redirects to the provider. Every such link is marked with rel="sponsored nofollow", the honest technical signal to search engines that it is a paid link, and each is disclosed in the text near where it appears. We currently have, or expect to have, affiliate relationships with iTrustCapital and BitIRA — both US crypto IRA providers with verified programs. Until a given provider's own tracking link is live, the /go/ link simply points to its homepage, so you are never sent anywhere misleading.
What the money never buys
A commission never buys a ranking, a rating, or a soft word about fees. Our provider comparison leads with fees for every provider, including the ones we earn from, and we criticise them where they fall short — flagging opaque, consultation-only pricing and high fee stacks even on providers whose links pay us. We also tell readers plainly when a cheaper route that pays us nothing — a spot ETF in an ordinary IRA — or holding no crypto at all is the honest answer. If a payout ever conflicted with the correct recommendation, the recommendation wins; that rule is the entire reason this page exists.
The picks that pay us nothing
To prove the point, several of the options we recommend on merit earn this site nothing. A spot Bitcoin or Ether ETF held in a normal brokerage IRA — often the cheapest route to crypto exposure in retirement — pays us no commission. Alto CryptoIRA discontinued its referral program in 2024, so recommending it as a low-minimum option earns us nothing either. And Bitcoin IRA is named for comparison only, with no verified affiliate program on its pages. We would rather have your trust than a marginal commission, because the trust is what makes the commissions possible at all. None of this is financial or tax advice, and we are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any provider named here; their trademarks are used nominatively, for identification only.
